About the founder of DoSo! Coaching & Counseling Relevant education My name is Dorota Klop-Sowinska, I am Polish citizen living in the Netherlands for more than 8 years. I am certified coach / counselor at Dutch Academy for Psychotherapy. This institute has already 30 years experience in providing education in the area of counseling, coaching, NLP and psychotherapy. The coach / counselor education (1 year) was provided according to the guidelines of the British Association for Counseling & Psychotherapy (BACP). I am accredited as 'Basis Counsellor' at the Dutch Association for Counselors. I also obtained a European Certificate of Counsellors Accreditation from European Association of Counsellors. Coaching Experience In 2009 I have started my company in the areas of expat coaching, life coaching, career coaching and counseling which focuses on women. In the beginning of 2010 I lived for several months in Sao Paulo, Brazil. As a coach / counselor with an international background I was providing coaching in forms of various workshops and individual sessions to the expat community of Sao Paulo. Currently I am working with the international and Dutch women living in the Netherlands. I provide coaching & counseling in English, Dutch and Polish. Business Experience In the years 2004 till 2007 I worked as internal auditor for an international company. I do not only have broad business knowledge but also learned how to work together with people from various cultures. I have followed several in-company trainings focused on cultural differences. Thanks to my work I have travelled all around the world, which allowed me to meet interesting and inspiring people from various cultures. Personal characteristic Many people who know me say my biggest gift is ability to listen with my open heart and mind. My clients describe me as a balanced person, who is creating feeling of comfort and trust. A person who is not afraid to confront and ask difficult questions in a respectful way. As a Polish citizen living already 8 years in the Netherlands I have a good understanding of the Dutch culture and I also can easily understand expats living abroad. During the past years I have lived in Mexico City and Sao Paulo for longer periods of time, which gave me a great opportunity to meet people from other cultures but also to understand positive and negative sides of an expat life. During the past six years I have experienced and enjoyed an expat life from all possible angles. I was a women with a busy international career living in the Netherlands with my Dutch husband. I was a mother experiencing the motherhood in the Netherlands when my daughter was born. I was an expat wife enjoying life in Mexico, where I have followed my husband's career. I was an expat woman starting my own career in Brazil (and supporting the career of my husband). Now I am an entrepreneur who is running her business in the Netherlands. Thanks to all those roles I can easily connect and fully understand women who are living abroad for various reasons or going through big changes in their lives. I have been there, I have seen it, I have done it! ABC OF EXPAT WOMAN'S LIFE Accreditation Since March 2011 I have became accredited by de NAC - De Nederlandse Associatie voor Counselling (Dutch Association for Counseling). It serves two main purposes. First of all it is a quality stamp for counsellors. In order to become accredited you need to have worked out certain amount of hours with the clients, you need to show on continuos basis that you are under supervision and that you regularly follow trainings in order to develop yourself and your knowledge. Secondly it gives the clients possibility to get part of the cost back depending on the insurer and insurance type.
